What Custom Digital Solutions covers

Some problems are too specific for a SaaS subscription. A grid reference system only one industry uses, a document workflow shaped by one company's compliance rules, an internal tool replacing a spreadsheet that six people quietly depend on.

Internal Tools

Admin panels, dashboards and operations software that replace the spreadsheet everyone has quietly built a business on.

Workflow Automation

Document generation, approval chains and integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

Domain Tools

Calculators, converters and mapping utilities encoding rules specific to one industry — the software nobody else will ever build.

Legacy Replacement

Incremental migration off software nobody wants to maintain, with the old system running until the new one has earned the switch.

SelectedBuilds

Projects we shipped in custom digital solutions. Every one links to running software or the source it was built from — check any of them.

GIS Convertor

2025JavaScript

Grid-reference converter translating map coordinates to Indian IIB zone grid numbers.

Built the full tool — click-to-convert on an interactive Google Maps layer plus manual grid entry, encoding a zoning scheme no commercial product supports.

Process

  1. 01

    Observe

We watch the current process, including the workarounds. The workarounds are where the real requirements are hiding.

  2. 02

    Narrow

Cut scope to the part that carries the value. Bespoke tools fail by trying to be a product.

  3. 03

    Build

Get it in front of the people who will use it daily, early, and let their reaction reshape it while that's still cheap.

  4. 04

    Embed

Training, documentation and a maintenance path, so the tool outlives whoever championed it.

Questions

What clients ask before starting custom digital solutions work with us.

How do I know if I need custom software?

You need it when the off-the-shelf options force you to change how the business works, when your process depends on rules no vendor supports, or when the spreadsheet holding it together has become a risk. You don't need it when a configured SaaS product would do — and we'll tell you when that's the case, because a build we talk you out of costs us one project and earns the next three.

Is bespoke software more expensive than buying a product?

Higher up front, often lower over five years — no per-seat licensing, no forced migrations, no feature you depend on getting deprecated. The real comparison isn't licence cost against build cost; it's build cost against the compounding drag of a process bent to fit someone else's product.

What happens if we outgrow the tool?

You own the code, so it grows with you. We build for the shape we can see rather than the shape imagined for year five, and keep the architecture open enough that extension doesn't mean a rewrite.

Can you integrate with the systems we already run?

Yes. Most custom work is integration work — accounting systems, CRMs, ERPs, internal databases and anything with an API or an export. Where there's no API we've read the file formats and built the bridge.

How small is too small?

Nothing is too small if it removes real friction. Some of the most valuable things we've shipped are single-purpose tools one team uses every day. The projects worth questioning are the large vague ones, not the small specific ones.
